Beautiful 'English' thatched Constantia home comes on the market | Anne Porter
Posted: 30th November -0001
One of the star teams at Anne Porter Knight Frank, Marianne Price and Fleur Lee, who service Upper Constantia, are selling a thatched home in Belair Drive that is, says Price, ‘quintessentially English’.
“Anyone familiar with the white walled, thatched cob cottages of Devon and Cornwall will immediately recognise how similar this home is to those,” said APKF’s MD, Lanice Steward. “Even the leg-of-mutton gables, the tall narrow chimneys, the full length small pane French doors and the stone fireplaces are authentically South West England.”
The home has no less than four communal (reception, dining, living and entertaining) rooms, a library, a study and a separate guest cottage (also suitable for staff accommodation).
The garden is well established and has an attractive heated pool.
In ‘normal’ trading conditions, said Fleur Lee, this home might fetch R15 million. Recognising that the demand for upmarket property has fallen temporarily, the owners have set a price tag of R11,5 million for the home - another good indication of how today’s upmarket Constantia homes at present represent ‘great buys’.
For further information contact Marianne Price on 083 250 0926 or Fleur Lee on 082 443 9133.
